General Manager

IKOHI COMPANY LIMITED is a registered Tanzania Company under company ordinance (cap 212). The company own three factories which are wine factory, rope factory and soap production factory. We are currently looking general manager to oversee the operations and business development of the three factories. The position will be based in Nyamagana, Mwanza

Job Description

Job Title : General Manager
Reporting to: CEO

Location: Mwanza
Work Environment:Office/Field

Job Purpose

To lead, direct, control activities of all business unit and all ongoing operations within the entity so that the company achieve its short and long term financial and operating objectives as set by the overall corporate business plan

Key Accountabilities

  • Establish and oversee budgets, plans, policies and programs that will effectively implement the business strategies and objectives set by the board and company
  • Liase with department managers of the business lines to ensure the highest growth and profitability in line with company objectives
  • Monitor competitive environment of the business lines to identify threats and opportunities and develop business plan to address them.
  • Responsible for increasing company revenue by identifying and developing new business avenues as well as expanding brand presence for growth in Tanzania.
  • Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of business to ensure smooth operations and progress
  • Direct and coordinate activities of businesses or departments concerned with the production, pricing, sales, or distribution of products for present and future.
  • Analyzing business potential and implementing plans to drive profitable sales, supplementing turnover and achieving desired targets for current operations.
  • Ensure legal and statutory compliance for the organization are met timely for all departments without reminders.
  • Ensure healthy growth of the business year on year keeping in mind the company’s conservative approach to leverage
  • Any other duties that may be assigned within this function

Qualification & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a relevant discipline.
  • 10 years of experience in Sales or Business Development functions for Manufacturing Industry.
  • Good Technical experience in Manufacturing segments.
  • Good knowledge of the Local market.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-level
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent listening and negotiating abilities combined with the aptitude to run high value sales & operation strategies
  • Excellent organizations skills
  • Good in Microsoft Office suite, ERP/CRM related tool is a plus
  • Business fluency in English
  • Technical competencies:
  • Understanding of the entire Sales lifecycle, including opportunity identification, capture management, technical solution design, proposal writing, costing, applicable regulations and closing deals.
  • Ability to provide technical data built around specific customer or project requirements to adapt required technical solutions into existing or new products and generate correct product specification.
  • Ability to analyze customers’ technical specifications.
  • Technical and business acumen.
  • Prospecting and sales call management.
  • Ability to collect, analyze and utilize market data regarding competitive products, customer needs, preferences and market trends.
